Spaecials!

The long term happiness of our cats, kittens and clients is very important to me. So I provide a questionnaire for all prospective clients to fill out. It is very helpful for knowing how to prepare for a new Savannah, and it helps me to know what cat or kitten might be most suited to your desires and lifestyle, and any areas of information I should provide for you. To fill it out, please click here to go to the Contact page of our website, where you will see the link to the questionnaire. After it is filled out you can save it as a pdf or word.doc, and email it to <sales@juaini.com>.

Would you like to be notified as soon as our kittens are born, and as soon kittens and cats become available?

[Adult Cats]

About adopting an adult Savannah from Jua Ini Savannahs:

In most cases I will not ship adult cats, and I prefer homes that are not very far away (close enough to drive). It is important to me that they be a great match with their new families. I know our adult cats have already bonded emotionally with our household people and pets, and developed habits based on their lifestyle here. They have deep feelings, and being uprooted should be minimized, and done with patience and care.

So I will be very careful rehoming our adults. That means that in some cases, after conversations and reading a filled-out questionnaire, even a wonderfully caring person or family, perfectly suited to owning a Savannah, may not be chosen for one of our adults. Sometimes I may suggest another cat or kitten (of ours, or from another reputable breeder) as being a better match.

Harrison-Schmarrison
Harrison is an F3 male, but several breeders have said he looks like an F2. He is a big boy, between 15 and 20 lbs. He was born on 4/27/07. He is genetically a silver, but has some warmer, wheaty tones. He has nice, clear black spots. He is already neutered and microchipped. Harrison is a real sweet boy, warm hearted and friendly, very intelligent, very affectionate, and extremely playful, with a great, irrepressible personality and loads of energy. We named him Harrison because he reminds us of Harrison Ford as Hans Solo in Star Wars. Somehow his name evolved into Harrison-Schmarrison. It just rolls off the tongue. He seems to like it.

Harrison went to a well-intended college student when he was 12 weeks old. He had filled out my screening questionnaire and signed my contract with enthusiasm. But during the week he got the kitten, he moved to a new home, accepted a new full time job, and he was already a full time student. He realized he was not able to care for an interactive pet (he has now settled for a fish), and he returned Harrison to me, rather sadly, after only having him a couple of weeks. Harrison returned to me perfectly healthy and friendly, and had come to no harm during his stay with this young man. Harrison has been here ever since.

Harrison is a very friendly guy who likes to participate in everything you do. He does not like to be carried. He usually grumbles and whines when I pick him up, but it is all talk. He has never ever been mean. And as soon as I put him down he is happy again. He is initially cautious with strangers until he can see that they are friendly. It does not take him long to decide this. He loves interactive play, with feather wands, etc. He has good litter habits, has never sprayed, and gets along well with other cats, and our dog. He can sometimes be a bit overbearing to our other cats who are smaller than he is (due to exuberant playfulness), but they do not fear him, they just find him annoying sometimes. He has never hurt any of them. He has always been notably kind and gentle with our small kittens, and they have always liked playing with him. Harrison is assertive about raw food and treats, so I usually feed him separately from our other cats, or else he will often rush in and snatch theirs from under their noses. Harrison is not used to getting his claws trimmed, and it would probably take some patience to teach him to accept it. He is used to outdoor access, but we think he can be perfectly happy with room to romp indoors, too.

I love Harrison, and if there was a problem with him, I would take him back. But I don't want him to have to go through that. So I look for a person or family who likes his traits, and will clearly lavish love upon him, and provide him a forever happy home.
